Lifetime Warranties

Leisure Pools offer a Lifetime Structural Warranty & a Lifetime Structural Osmosis Warranty on every pool shell they produce.

What “Lifetime Warranty” actually means.

Many pool providers only offer a several-year warranty. Leisure Pools’ stands apart. A lifetime warranty is defined as no less than 35 years on both the structural integrity of the shell and against structural osmosis on their Composite Armour™ pools and unlike many manufacturers, it is not prorated. When comparing pools, it’s worth asking exactly what time period a “lifetime” warranty actually covers, since this can vary significantly between brands.

The technology

Built with Composite Armour™: a core of strength.

Every Leisure Pool is built around their patented Composite Armour™ technology, the highest level of innovation in composite pool manufacturing. It’s a carefully engineered blend of three exceptionally strong fibres:

DuPont™ Kevlar®

Provides bend strength without stretching or shrinking, and outstanding resistance to stress and fatigue.

Carbon fibre

Carbon atoms organised into a crystalline structure, giving a strength-to-weight ratio higher than steel or titanium.

Basalt fibre

Made from volcanic lava rock, offering superior compression strength and resistance to fracture.

Cross-section of a Leisure Pools shell: gelcoat, vinyl ester laminates and the Composite Armour core

Combined and embedded within vinyl ester resin-reinforced fibreglass, these fibres form a composite matrix of structure & strength, designed to leverage stability against external pressures. Every integrated feature of your pool including entry steps, benches, spa walls, splash decks is reinforced with additional Composite Armour™ inserts, so the whole pool feels solid underfoot, not just the shell.

Vinyl Ester Resin: where quality really counts.

Resin makes up nearly 70% of a fibreglass pool shell, so its quality matters enormously. Leisure Pools uses Vinyl Ester Resin throughout the entire manufacturing process, not just as a thin protective layer.

Vinyl Ester Resin outperforms standard polyester resin in every way that matters: it bonds better between layers, is less prone to stress cracking, and leaves fewer microscopic cavities where water can penetrate the laminate. This matters because of Osmosis: a process where groundwater seeps through basic polyester laminate, becoming trapped between structural layers. Over time, this creates bubbles that grow and compromise the pool shell’s structural integrity, sometimes without any visible sign for years.

Leisure Pools’ full Vinyl Ester Resin construction is specifically designed to keep groundwater out and prevent this from happening and to give you the utmost confidence that this will not happen to your pool.

A finish built to last.

Every Leisure Pool is finished with a premium gelcoat from Allnex, first introduced to the Australian market over 20 years ago. It delivers outstanding UV, blister and chemical resistance, holding up to everything from an Australian summer to New Zealand’s alpine conditions.

Certified quality control, from concept to completion.

Every Leisure Pool starts as a hand-drawn concept, brought to life by master carpenters who build a full-size wooden pool model. A precise mould is cast from this model, then moved through Leisure Pools’ environment-controlled manufacturing facility, where skilled laminators construct each shell to strict benchmarked standards.

Along the way, raw materials are batch-tested for flexural and tensile strength, cure percentages, hardness, and thickness with inspections carried out at precise points across every shell. Only once a shell passes this rigorous process is it cleared for delivery and installation.

Each pool is confidently constructed with care and pride.

Here in Central Otago

Built for Central Otago’s ground conditions.

Central Otago’s climate brings real extremes, from scorching, dry summers to hard winter frosts. These seasonal swings cause the ground itself to move, as moisture in the soil freezes and expands, then thaws and settles again.

This is exactly where Leisure Pools’ construction stands apart. Every shell is batch-tested for flexural and tensile strength measuring not just how strong the material is, but how well it can bend and flex without cracking under pressure. Combined with their patented Composite Armour™ core, this gives your pool the strength to move with the ground beneath it, rather than resisting it outright.

The result is a pool built specifically to handle the freeze-thaw cycles and ground movement common to alpine and inland climates like ours, giving you confidence your investment will hold up through every Central Otago winter, for decades to come.

Since 2000

The Leisure Pools story.

Leisure Pools

With a global footprint spanning 23 countries, 150,000+ pools delivered over the last 25+ years, and a network of 500+ independent dealers, it’s fair to say Leisure Pools know a thing or two about pools.

Every great pool starts with a good story and Leisure Pools begins in Yatala Australia, back in 2000.

What started as a small manufacturing facility quickly became something much bigger. Facing some of the harshest conditions, scorching heat, intense UV, and unforgiving summers the engineers had no choice but to build pools tougher, smarter, and more durable than anyone else in the industry. That relentless pursuit of quality became their signature, and it’s the same technology that stands strong in backyards around the world today including right here in Central Otago.

Leisure Pools has always been a family business, founded by the Pain Family. That family spirit hasn’t faded with growth. Over the years, that small Australian start-up has grown into a genuine global leader in fibreglass pool manufacturing.

From humble beginnings to a world-class manufacturing facility in Knoxville, Tennessee recognised as one of the largest swimming pool production sites in the world, every step of that journey has been guided by one simple idea: build pools that families can trust, enjoy, and pass down for generations.

Today, when you choose a Leisure Pool, you’re not just choosing a swimming pool. You’re choosing over 20 years of world-leading innovation, tested against nature’s toughest conditions, and built to bring your family together for years to come.

The Leisure Pools promise

Investing in a pool is a significant decision for your home and family. Leisure Pools backs that investment with a Lifetime Structural Warranty and Lifetime Structural Osmosis Warranty on every composite fibreglass shell, built on real technology, and research. It’s the commitment to quality, and they want you to have peace of mind and enjoy your pool for years to come.

They offer the Leisure Pools Lifetime Warranties to you as a seal of commitment to the quality of the product. The Leisure Pools Promise to you.
